I never heard “切れ長の瞳” before.
瞳 means an iris of eye. Every iris of eyes are round, you know.
And I found accidentally some Japanese asked the same question (maybe same novel) on the web. As a result, the author miswrote it. Actually, “切れ長の目を細めて品のある微笑みを湛えている。” is a normal expression like the picture I attached.
