A:
the word 武者 is often used as a combination with another word in order to describe a specific type of warriors.
e.g.
鎧武者がこちらに走ってくる.
よろいむしゃ が こちら に はしって くる
An armoured warrior is running towards this way
彼は歩兵から騎馬武者に昇格された.
かれは ほへい から きばむしゃ に しょうかく された
He was promoted to a cavalry from an infantry
i hope the translation made sense :D
this is just my opinion, but i feel like if you just want to refer to a warrior (especially from like a few hundreds ago), 武士 ぶし (bushi) is a more commonly used term.

Q:
武者 (busha, warrior) と 武士 (bushi, warrior) はどう違いますか?
A:
You say 武者 musha.
Both are similar and related, and sometimes interchangeable, but different connotations.
I think 武士 is a class/status in the old Japanese society, warrior class people. It makes me think of history textbook. It also makes me think of their lifestyle and philosophy, reserved and strong self control etc. probably educated too.
武者 makes me think of a worrier, probably in an armor and holding a sward. Someone could be referred to as 武者 if people think he (usually a man) is strong and courageous too.
If there is a movie about 武士, I’d think it could be anything related to the warrior class life, from battle fields to boring life of officials in samurai government.
But if there is a movie about 武者, I’d expect battles and bloodshed (but I could be wrong).
