よく調べて、本物かどうか、どのくらい価値があるかなど判断することです。

「区別」は、違いをみつけて分けることです。
■日本人はRとLの音を区別するのが苦手です。

分別 means separate in English.
鑑別 and 区別 and 判別 mean distinguish in English.
区別 is used in daily conversations.
判別 is used in more written language.
鑑別 is used in special case such as law or academic things.(I’ve never used this word in my life 😂)
Of course they have nuisances, but I kind of think that’s ok you use 区別 anytime (Actually, many native Japanese, including myself, dont understand them correctly 😅)
