「Inevitable」の類語とその違い
Q:
inevitable と unavoidable はどう違いますか?
A:
very similar words though slight difference in meaning. “Inevitable” means something must happen and no one makes a choice about it. “Unavoidable” means even if someone tries to make a choice it doesn’t make a difference. In some contexts they are interchangeable, but not always. For example:
“It is inevitable that we all die”
“It is unavoidable that we all die”
Are both correct
However:
“The shot was unavoidable” is correct
“The shot was inevitable” is incorrect because it is not something that must happen. Instead it could be “by the time the person reacted, it was inevitable that they would be hit” and that’s correct.
Quite confusing but generally they’re interchangeable 🙂

Q:
inevitable と ineluctable と 请举例说明,感谢 はどう違いますか?
A:
Both overlap in the idea of “cannot be stopped”.
Inevitable is more concerned with the fact that it is more certain to happen.
Ineluctable is more concerned with the fact that it cannot be ignored or stopped.
Ex:
The truth is that death is inevitable, from the richest person on earth down to the poorest of the poor.
An inevitable outcome was borne from his folly, but she managed to lessen the outcome’s gravity.
She has a theory about the ineluctable changes that is present in today’s technology.
The woman has raised ineluctable points about climate change, yet no one chose to bat an eye to it, all but for one person.
