- Hi, people who see this post. I wrote an essay about what I've worked on in university. if you have chance to check my essay, that will be very helpful! I put it here! what I have worked on in class is studying abroad in the U.S. I was born and raised in Okinawa, which is known for American base issues. That made me intrigued in the U.S. and decide to study there. When I was at a college in Seattle, I took sociology and humanity classes to understand american culture. In addition, there are lots of events which I could learn american culture or other cultures, so I participated in those events actively. Therefore, I could learn about where other international students come from as well. Through this experience, I could learn that understanding cultural and historical backgrounds is as important as learning languages to understand other countries or people.
