英語 (アメリカ) に関する質問
Could you please tell me about Question tags? Can I use Question tags purpose of to reduce tense or suppose sympathy? In other words, can I use it as Japanese だね and だよね end ?
e.g.1 laughter and watching TV with friend
me : What a guy..... it's crazy.
me : What a guy..... it's crazy, isn't it ?<rise> (sounds friendly atmosphere ?)
e.g.2
me : What's wrong? You looks very tired.
me : What's wrong? You looks very tired, do you?<rise> (express more sympathy ?)
e.g.3
me : I'm so hungry. Let's go out to lunch.
me : I'm so hungry. Let's go out to lunch, shall we ? <rise> (sounds friendly atmosphere ?)
Thank you.

1 is fine, but 2 doesn’t work. “Do you?” can’t be used as a question tag because it’s more of a question on its own.
Ex. I love cookies. Do you?
3 doesn’t really work for the same reason. “Shall we” implies that the speaker and listener should leave from somewhere. It also functions as a small question on its own.
Ex. “This movie is so boring!”
“Shall we?”
“Yeah, let’s go.”
In English, people do add things to the ends of sentences. But in a different way.
I’ll give you some examples:
- “You’re in high school, right?”
- “I bet you have a crush on her, don’t you?”
They typically but a small question at the end of a statement.
Hope this helps

To me these tags are more for getting an answer or approval from the other person
