As you probably know, brown rice is considered to be healthier than white rice for a couple of reasons. In the first place, it is much higher in nutrients, because the bran and germ, which are the most nutritious parts of the grain, haven't been removed. Second, it helps you maintain a normal blood sugar level and keep you full longer, since the bran fibre delays the release of glucose into your blood stream. However, eating brown rice too often would cause indigestion.
Therefore, I keep both brown and white rice in stock and switch eating them every other day. One unpleasant thing about storing rice at home however is that I often have rice weevils as uninvited guests. Oddly enough, those smartasses only choose brown rice to attack--the white is usually safe from them. How do they know brown rice is better? Animal instinct is amazing, isn't it? They don't need science to know what's good for them, whereas we human beings for the most part seem to have lost that gift.

Its sounds perfect. if you want to make it sound slightly better remove "in the first place" It is correct but native english speakers are usually told to not use "firstly, secondly" etc in essays and debates if they want it to sound more formal/educated
