When you have been told the food is sweet but after tasting it it is actually spicy, how can I say like "Sweet my foot! It is so spicy!"? 甘いじゃない seemed to not carry that much weight compare to English counterpart.

That should be "（甘いって言ったのに）甘くないじゃない！ (You told me it is sweet, but It isn't.) "

"甘くない + じゃない！"

"〜じゃない" is come from " 〜では+ない" means
(1) is not/am not/are not ...
(2) (at the end of the sentence) isn't it?/is it?
