大体合ってるけど少し不自然

This tournament begins with the knockout stage.
Or you can say
“The tournament begins with a knockout on stage”

Why is "on" necessary?

大体合ってるけど少し不自然

@kento_robben it’s adds being specific. So it means that the knockout happened on the stage. Where if you don’t it just makes the sentence seem like it was a knockout stage not a knockout on the stage
