I wok at takeout restaurant occasionally there are customers claiming food is not prepared well and they haven’t eaten had to throw it but wanna a free one for a credit without showing us. How can I say to those customers that they have to bring the food and then we can decide whether or not remake the food for them. I don’t have much experience with that can anybody tell me some expressions that sound professional and natural?? Thanks.

I’m so sorry this is happening to you. People who do this should be ashamed of themselves. It’s very rude, and it sounds like they are just trying to get a second meal without paying you for it.
You can say: “I’m sorry, sir/ma’am, but we cannot replace the food without you showing it to us first”
“If you show us what is wrong with the food, we can inspect it and replace your meal”
“If you show us what is wrong with the food, we can inspect it and give you a refund” (giving them their money back but not a new meal)
“I’m sorry, sir/ma’am, but if you have eaten the entire meal, we cannot replace it for you.”

@mujerbonita13 thank you so much for your valuable answers. I would say them very well if it’s in my own language however i just speak limited English while I work in restaurant so it’s a little frustrating. Thank you again.
