The old woman says "Not spritely enough?" after she turns into her true self?
What does it mean? Any idea?

She's asking if they were expecting her to be more "spritely." Which in this context means, I'd guess, more like a fairy or a nymph or something similar.
ie. "Am I not as fairy-like as you were expecting ?" or "Were you expecting me to be more like a fairy?"

@LadyDisdain Oh, that makes perfect sense. Thank you.
If you don't mind, I have one more question.

The old woman tells about how people didn't care about her when she was homeless.
She says "Nobody gave three sticks of thought about me."
Are you familiar with this "three sticks..." thing here? Why 3-sticks? Maybe is there an origin?

@LadyDisdain And one more thing. She also adss "I'd be strung up before the morning commute."
In this, 'commute' is used as a noun or verb? And does the use of it here make enough sense to you?

@Bunch I've never heard of "three sticks...," but it's easy to understand from the context. The more common version would be "Nobody gave two hoots about me."

@Bunch In this example, "commute" is a noun, but it can also be used as a verb. It's used very commonly in situations like this. It refers to travelling to and from work.
"I have to leave early if I want to make the commute on time." (noun)
"My new job is great, but the commute is a killer; I need to find a house closer to the office." (noun)
"I commute all the way across town, because my office is so far away." (verb)
"I was commuting every day, but now I work from home most days." (verb)
