I've heard this from natives, eg: "My in call volume was very low that I could barely hear". Shouldn't it be "...was so low that I could..."? Saying "very" doesn't sound correct to my ears. Is that a grammar mistake or something?

I think “so low” sounds better. That’s how I would usually speak. :) hope this helped! If I’m wrong please correct me!
