We have a lot of "Unit bath" that has toilet bowl, shower and bath tub, especially in apartment house. However, usuallyトイレ or お手洗い means a room that has only toilet bowl. 浴室 means a room that has bath tub (And shower).
お手洗い is formal and polite word. I think you might use お手洗い. トイレ is a bit casual word but many people use in daily conversation. Just a small difference.
If you would like to say ”Could/May I use bathroom?”, you say
(すみません)お手洗いをお借りできますか?
We say 借りる for asking someone to use bathroom.

@sakaisu I didn't know if I could use トイレ for the room in your house. Could I use トイレ or お手洗い or just 浴室?

@sakaisu 😀 I had no idea! Thank you for teaching me about Japanese bathrooms. 😄 Also thanks for explaining everything.
