I don’t know how anyone hasn’t mentioned this yet but gas is slang for weed. Considering he was talking to an officer asking if he had any weapons and he responded this way I think it’s safe to assume the guy was talking about having marijuana on him.

Gas can mean several things.

It can mean flatulence.

It can mean natural gas, which is found in the earth.

According to the dictionary, it means a substance or matter in a state in which it will expand freely to fill the whole of a container, having no fixed shape (unlike a solid) and no fixed volume (unlike a liquid).

Gas in this sentence actually doesn’t make much sense.
