英語 (イギリス) に関する質問
▪️Il est dit en anglais que "TO" est la forme de l'infinitif sauf les models verbs notamment "might" "can" "may" et "must"
▪️Il est aussi dit en français que lorsque deux verbes se suivent le second se met en l'infinitif.
exemple1: J'ai voulu manger des pop-corn avant de me laver et dormir par la suite.
exemple2: I wanted to eat popcorn before washing and sleeping later.
Ma question est la suivante : Pourquoi est-ce que la forme de l'infinitif "TO" n'est-elle pas respectée dans la traduction anglaise ? Pourquoi on dit pas <<I wanted to eat popcorn before "to" wash and "to" sleep later>>?
j'ai besoin de comprendre. merci

After the word "before" here you don't use a verb in the infinite, but a noun or a gerund (a form of the verb which acts as a noun). Here the sentence uses the gerunds washing and sleeping.
It is different to French where you'd say "Avant de me coucher".

We say "I wanted TO eat popcorn" because you're using two verbs together.
For the rest of the sentence you'd say "...before washing (taking a shower?) and sleeping".
