But here it's used as a transitive verb 他動詞
Is the sentence incorrect?

@Bergbauer 開いてis one form of 開く. It’s 他動詞. 開く can be both 自動詞 and 他動詞, I think.
The sentence is correct.

ドアが開（ひら）く=ドアが開（あ）く

Oh sorry. I see.
開ける is always used as transitive verb, but 開く is used as both. So it's one of the difference between those two words.
You can also say "10ページを開けてください.
Both correct and in this case, there is no difference.
Both means Open page 10.

Hmmm, I believe that the image of those two words is different.
It might be just my opinion, but I think ひらく is focused on the movement of opening, and normally the movement makes an arc or the sape of V.
あける is focused on the status of open.
So I wouldn't use ひらく for a slide door or a lid of jam bottle.

I think you can say both 〇〇をあける、〇〇をひらく, but
when you stretch and open your legs,you can't say 足をあける.
It is always said 足をひらく.

And when you say 店をあける, it means open the shop, start business hour, but when you say 店をひらく, it means you open a new shop.
