So today I was followed by a Japanese guy on Instagram,so I give it a follow back and he started texting me asking about my age,work etc.

But in the end he asked if he can talk to me on call but I declined saying that I'm not a Japanese speaker and I'm using translator for texting and after a while he just seen my text and then never replied back.

is there anything I did wrong? or maybe he lost interest in talking to me since I'm not a Japanese person?

I don’t know why he didn’t reply but I guess you didn’t wrong.
Or he might be what is called “出会い厨” so you don’t need to think so.

@jpnlvr19 I don’t think it has to do with you not being Japanese. I think it’s more that he cannot speak English and he thinks communication will not be possible or at least difficult. Many Japanese are afraid to talk to non-Japanese people because of the language barrier, not because they don’t like non-Japanese people. Many actually want to talk to non-Japanese people but they just simply can’t.

@jpnlvr19 Nah, you didn’t. I guess he had no choice, but to communicate in Japanese when he doesn’t know English? It was just the language difference between you and him.

Tbh I'm kinda the same too,I've other Japanese followers too, and I always wanted to text them to get to know them , but can't due to language barrier.
