None?
People just know WAY too few about Korea to consider it "popular" anywhere, I guess.
Knowing one PSY song, the group BTS or TWICE is not what we could call "popular", so it's irrelevant.
The movie "Parasite" got a lot of fame, but again it's not something that made Korea popular.

@Marie-M-Chabrier That's a very subjective assumption, based on pretty much nothing.
"Squid game" being popular (subjectively) does NOT mean that "a lot of people" has interest in Korea. Do you have official sources to show what "a lot of people" refers to?
Korea has never been a popular country (at least in France) and the fact that "Squid Game" for example was successful does NOT mean all of a sudden there are lots of people having a lot of interest in Korea.
Japan is "relatively" popular among a certain part of the population (the youngest) and even if most French people really know a few about the country, sushi / karate / judo / nintendo and sony games / anime and manga / cosplay etc. are enough to say that "elements of Japan culture" are being considered as "popular".
Korea is FAR, FAR behind Japan. So please don't say that "a lot of people has interest in Korea", that is absolutely not true.

@Marie-M-Chabrier Go where on Youtube? What video? What link?
Not agreeing is fine, not explaining why you don't agree just proves my point. :(
Saying that "a lot of people has interest in Korea" without a single source is very, very subjective, that's all I'm saying.
Millions of French people eat Kebabs every day, does it make Turkey a popular country? No.

One of my friends from France told me that S.Korea is getting popular in France. Japan has been popular in France but Korea is getting popular these days especially, in young generation. Compared to other countries in Europe, France is one of countries where Korea is the most popular :)
Also, my friend said people who are interested in Korea tend to be interested in Japan too.

@SWSeoul I think you should be careful with the word "popular".
McDonald's is popular, chocolate is popular, rap music is popular.
Korea is NOT popular.
A few young people being maniac about BTS, Twice or a few dramas is absolutely not enough to be considered as "popular" in an entire country.
More and more people are being "curious" or "interested" about Korea, but it does NOT mean that all of a sudden Korea is popular. It's getting to be a little more famous than before, it's not the same thing.
Anyway, what I am trying to say it that Korea is popular "among a very small portion of young people". People in France, for the major part, do not know anything about Korea and/or have no interest whatsoever, and it's the same for Japan. Japan just have a bigger core fan base. (or more otakus if you like)

@SWSeoul which not? ...in Spain for sure, I can tell you by firsthand that the demand for studying Korean language in Catalonia has skyrocketed.
The covid19 pandemic era caught many fans worldwide, I include myself!
And as far as I know, France is one of the European countries which has most íë¥fans for now.
It must be admitted that koreans drive us crazy xD
