this is from a card that translates to "If you go straight on this street, it's located on your right side." 이 길로 똑바로 가면 오른쪽에 있어요.

I understand that 똑바로 in this case means straight, but why is that so? what does 똑바로 means in general? Is 똑바로 its original form?
