It does not have any meaning by itself but It can express ur feeling like angry or sad.It may comes from Chinese because all of the Chinese like to use this kind of expression.So the Singaporean Chinese will use this kind of words.

It's Singlish lolol. It is just like an expression when you're annoyed or procrastinating. For example: Mother: go do your homework.
Ben to his friend: I don't want to do sia(procrastinating).
Another use frequently used my Malays is "sia lah". It has no definite meaning but can mean annoyance or being impressed. It's definitely not that easy if you're not a local but if you listen to it everyday, you will probably understand it.   Although Singlish is nothing special to boast about, it is how singaporeans communicate with each other🙃.

@hiaimee "sia" doesn't have an actual  meaning, in singapore/malaysia (and depending on the people you're speaking to) "sia"/"mia" is used to add "flavour" or to show how you're feeling by adding an additional word(in this case "sia") in different intonation depending on your expression at the end of the sentence.

sia is the short form of "sial" - a malay word which originally mean "unfortunate" but have somehow evolved to a slang that often used as suffix.

perhaps in English equivalent it could be used as "man" like 
- "that's cool, man"
- " I  can't do that, man!"

in Singlish it would be
- " that's so cool la sia!"
-" that one i can not lah sia!"

actually correction, "sia" is not the "short form" of "sial". it is either the Singaporean Chinese' s mispronounciation of the original malay  word "sial" or the Singaporean Malay's attempt to soften the crudness of the word "sial".

by the way I'm Singaporean.
the hinative system seems racist sia, they don't recognize my "native language" as part of singapore. when malay is actually the national language of Singapore sia!

@Mzia ummmm possible. but it's abit waay too far as an example.  cos "see" in your example has this persuasion to have agreement or an understanding and it sounds polite. sia on the other hand is more of an affirmation, sometimes and exclamation but in disbelief. and it's not polite.

@Mzia hmm I get what you mean but I have never used see in that kind of situation. I do use see in instances like "it's not that difficult,( you) see!" if this is what you mean, then yes perhaps it bears resemblance in meaning between see and sia.

just giving another singlish example of when sia is used:

" that kid cry so loud, I can't tahan sia!"
(that kid is crying so loud, spare me I can't stand her!)

"lockdown everywhere, want go out oso can't go anywhere sia"
(everywhere is lockdown. (Regardless how much) I want to go out somewhere, I am (also) unable to go anywhere, (shit I have to resign to this)!"

"that guy so funny sia!"
(that guy is damn hilarious!!)
