「気持ちに余裕がある」you don't worry something too much.
You can keep your calm.
Something like that.
In general, the person who has dream or goal, he/she is very attractive. They know what should do now and also know what should do next, so they are active for everything and seem/look happy. These situation make them feel confidence (自信) and their mind are relaxed (気持ちに余裕がある).
The guy likes her because she has everything what he doesn't have such as confidence and relaxed state of mind.
You don't need to say "sorry" at all! Since I'm still learning English, I can't explain it very well in English 😭
I wish I could speak English very well...

@sallykyoko ありがとうございます! But what does 『余裕』really mean?
- 日本語
余裕 have a lot of meanings.
For example,
お金に余裕がある means rich ( he has a lot of money)
時間に余裕がある means he has a lot of time to do something.
気持ちに余裕がある means you are relaxed
Something like that. 😊

Hmmm... So when @sallykyoko said: 『自分に自信があると、気持ちに余裕が生まれます』, did you mean that "if I can have confidence in myself, a relaxing feeling will be born"? I don't know if I got it right ><
Oh! Also, I don't know if this will change the meaning of the whole sentence, but this is from a dorama and in this part, the guy is explaining why he likes a certain girl who has a big dream of becoming a journalist, and then he says: そういうのがあるやつって持ってんだよな。。。自信とか余裕とか。とにかく、俺が持ってないもんが、あいつにはいっぱい詰まってんだ。
The translation of 『余裕』was "self will", but since the subtitles of this dorama were really bad, I didn't know if this was the correct translation to 余裕... Well, I don't know if I got it right and a lot of the times where I put the whole context to the phrase, the meaning totally changes, so that's why I'm saying it all at once to @sallykyoko...
I'm really sorry if I'm being stubborn >< 本当にごめんなさい!😫

Sorry for the super late reply @sallykyoko...
But, reading your answer, I was able to understand it pretty well! So the translation of the dorama was wrong actually xD 今、わかりましたよ! Thanks to @sallykyoko!
And please don't worry! I could understand everything you said :D And if I knew more Japanese I would be able to hold a conversation with you too 😣 and you wouldn't have to force yourself to explain it all in English 😫, so 気にしないでください! 🙇 it is all my fault >< I wish I could speak Japanese better too 😅
But, @sallykyoko: ありがとうございます! You really really helped me :D

Thanks so much for saying that. I'm very happy I seemed can help you a bit.
Since your Japanese language level mark shows "beginner", I thought I needed to answer in English. 💦
But you seem to be able to speak Japanese well than the mark shows. 👍Also, I found you are very nice person. ☺️ To be honest, I have a Brazilian friend and he is really nice and sincere person! あなたといい、そのブラジル人の彼といい、とても良い人で、益々ブラジル人が好きになりました‼︎ ☺️ ありがとう〜

Hehehe ^^ @sallykyoko は私を救いました! I hope this makes sense haha ><
Yes, it's because I really am a beginner 😢 I started my 日本語 classes this year, so I'm still on the introductory level, not even on the basic 😥, but since I am really into anime (I discovered recently that in Japan, anime is considered just for kids, これは本当ですか。 😫) I was able to understand a little bit of Japanese, some words and phrases through アニメ😊 And when speaking to native Japanese speakers, I feel really happy when I can use this little bit I've learned 😆 幸せの気持ちにかんじているよ 😊💞 (I really hope this makes sense too 😅)
I'm still just a beginner really >< but thank you for saying that I seem to be able to speak Japanese better than the mark shows, it made me really really happy 😳😆
えええ !そうなの? 😄haha thank you!! I'm so happy right now >< You are a very nice and honest person too!! 😆😆😆
Really? Wow! How did you guys meet? 😆
Lucky him! It must be so cool to have Japanese friends xD 私も日本人の友達になりたいです! すごく楽しいと思われるですよね *^*
It's really great you think so :D I think that Japanese people are also super cool! They seem gentle, delicate and really caring 😳😊😆
When I can come to Japan and learn Japanese, I hope I can meet sweet people like @sallykyoko 😄😆😊

Hey @fabinakamura98!
How're you ?
One quick correction.
sallykyoko は私を救いました! ->sallykyoko は私を助けてくれました。is better to say. 👍
I'm not sure exactly what you mean by "consider" , but an anime is made for kids at first, but now an anime is for everyone include adults. They are not only for kids any more.
I rarely watch/read an anime, though. You can see even some adults to read a manga in a train in Japan. 💧The population who like an anime is increasing. I think this fact means an anime is developing technologically. What kind of anime do you like? But be careful! Some anime doesn't use appropriate Japanese.
I met a Brazilian guy at a language exchange site. Even though I tried to sign up this site again a couple days ago, I couldn't find it any more. 😲 Sometimes we chat through iMessage (iPad / iPhone) with him. He is 21 yeas old now and he already has a wife. (He got married when he was 20) Is it common to get married so young in Brazil ?
I'm very happy to hear that you like Japanese. ☺️💕
Since you are very nice, you can get Japanese friends soon! Maybe we are already friends? 😝

😆
I'm fine! 😊 How are you? 😃
Ahh! That makes sense xD ありがとうございます! Sorry, Japanese is still really hard for me >< but thank you for not giving up on me and keep on correcting me 😄 It must be troublesome, sorry! 😫
Ah! I said "consider" meaning "to think of it", like to think of anime as just for kids. Waaa! That's so cool it's not only for kids anymore! I'm so so happy right now! 😆
I would totally feel out of place or a weirdo if I would still like anime and, when in Japan, people considered me childish or something 😨
But you watch/read what kind of gender @sallykyoko? 😃 Since you said "rarely" instead of "never" I got curious hehe xD
YAAY that's so cool! I was really hoping that this part of the culture didn't fade away! I really really love anime and mangá! It would be really sad if it was not considered important anymore or if it disappeared 😭
So happy the population who like anime is increasing!!! 😄
Yes! That's true! I started to truly watch anime when I was
11 years old (when I was a kid I used to watch on TV dubbed - in portuguese, which it's really strange for me now xD - but I would watch just few episodes of Sailor Moon or Pokemon and since it was on TV, the episodes were not aired sequentially, so it was impossible to keep up with it xD That's why I don't really consider this part as "watching anime" 😅
Wow! Sorry I ended up talking nonstop! You probably don't care about what I said haha xD) and comparing to the ones airing today, the quality has increased a lot! It's mind blowing 😵 !
Waaa! @sallykyoko might think that I'm really silly and childish 😫, but I really like the 少女 type 😆 I thought that I didn't really like magical ones, because of the fights and everything, but recently I decided to try to watch Sailor Moon Crystal and I'm really loving it! Haha 😅 Well, it's kinda shoujo too, but...
Well, I liked those ones like FullMetal Alchemist too, but I'm not really used to watch this kind of genre yet 😯 Sorry if you like this type and I'm saying those things 😫
AHH @sallykyoko I'm talking nonstop again! 😨 ごめんなさい! 😫
Wow! Really? 😱 What is appropriate in anime that it's not in real life? 😓
Wow! How cool! Like this app xD Ahh like us! Hahaha 😆
変だよね? 😨 Why is that? 😵
Did the site disappear or was it your account?
Ahh! Did you exchange numbers? xD
Whaaat? 😱 Already? 😵😵😵
Hahaha! No, it's not xD People usually get engaged when they are almost 30 years old 😊
I think they want to enjoy being single to the utmost or something xD But if the person found his/her true love, then it's normal to marry as soon as possible, right? 😆😍😊 But, even like this, it's still not that common though 😉
Ah! By the way, how old are you @sallykyoko?
Yay! Glad you're happy 😆😆😆 Yeah, I really admire Japanese people 😆😊😄
わぁぁ 恥ずかしい〜!😄 Do you think so? 😄😊😆 Are you always so sincere? Hahaha xD

元気ですか?私は少し疲れています!Becsuse we had a Christian convention for three days and we need to drive about 2hours (one way) to get there every day. I'm exhausted but I love God so it was kind of exiting.
Correcting Japanese is not troublesome at all so please feel free let me to correct them. 👍
Sometimes I watch "Thunderbirds are go"on TV. Do you know it? It is broadcasting a couple of times a month in Japan. I have a 5 year old boy who is one of my church friends and he loves it. He knows that I like it, too so he always ask me "Did you watch "Thunderbirds are go? We can watch it on ○○ next time." He always reminds me of watching it. He is so cute. ☺️
I know "Sailor Moon" and "Pokemon" but I don't watch them. And don't worry if I think you are childish or not. I respect your favorite and taste.
I don't know exactly that which manga is used in inappropriate Japanese but at least I heard the character of "Naruto" uses unnatural Japanese. (I even don't know that what kind of manga "Naruto" is, though💧)
The site has gone somewhere. I don't know what happened but I don't need that because I can make friends with another site like this! 👍
Oh...are you asking my age? Well...I'm older than you. 😝 but don't you think age doesn't matter to friendship? (I do hope so)☺️
You are so sweet, too @fabinakamura98!
We call ☺️😭😲 絵文字(えもじ) emoji.
Do you know many Brazilian live in Japan to work? Also many Japanese went to Brazil and settle down a lot of years ago.
Both our countries have a special relationship, don't they?

こんにちは、@sallykyoko! 元気ですか。😃
You don't need to apologize! 😄 It's totally okay! I should be the one apologizing for taking so long to answer! 😫 So, 本当にごめんなさい!😫🙇
はい、元気ですよ〜 だって 今日は日本語がはじまりますね〜 すごくうれしいです!😆
大変ですね?
無理しないでください、体がいつもだいじにしてください。🙇 I hope this makes sense, I meant always take care of your health and don't overdo too much 😅
But did you have fun?
Wow! Do you already drive?😱 It must be cool 😊 but 2hours? 😨 It must have been really tiring!
Haha glad it's not troublesome 😄 but I certainly make a lot of mistakes.
I didn't know it, but I searched for it and I think I already saw a commercial passing on TV, I guess, Nickelodeon...?
Hahaha how cute! xD He must be so little 😆
What is 『○○』?
Hahaha it seems to be funny to have him nearby xD
xD Glad to hear that! I don't watch them anymore, just Sailor Moon Crystal recently, but it surely is nostalgic when I watch SMCrystal! I end up remembering a lot of things from when I was a kid xD Hmmm... but usually I watch and read more『アオハライド』and such, most are from ベツマ or 花と夢 xD
Anyways, about learning from animes, I only try to learn some vocabulary, like, when I watch it, I need portuguese subtitles, so hearing the voice actors, I end up associating some words 😄 , for example 『難しい、かっこい、スカッと、電話。。。』and maybe trying to figure out how to form sentences and everything, but since I don't really watch the shounen ones, or the phantasy ones, I think there won't be a problem 😊
There would be a problem if there were invented or unnatural Japanese in shoujo ones! I would be totally lost 😫
I think Naruto is "shounen", like aiming the male audience :)
True! Thankfully there're a lot of language exchange sites and apps nowadays xD
Sorry! I didn't want to be indelicate asking about your age 😫
Yes, I think so! I always get along better with adults than people my age to be honest xD
Thank youuuu @sallykyoko! 😄 That means a lot :D
Ah! I searched for it on Google and surprisingly found out! I meant "顔文字" with "Japanese emoticons" xD
Ahh! It's my dream!! 😆 I really hope someday I can live in Japan! Hope it happens soon 😆
But I didn't know about it! Do you know them (the brazilians you talked about)? After seeing a bunch of videos on YouTube, I saw that there's a lot of tourists and foreigners in Japan, but I never saw any brazilians... Maybe it depends on the part of Japan? 😮
Wow! How do you know that? 😵 Haha yeah, that's true! That's why I'm here 😢 I'm the 4th generation here in Brazil 😅 Counting my grand おじいちゃんs and grand おばあちゃんs who arrived here, I'm the 4th!
いいよ、大丈夫です!気をつけてね 😆😊
Yes, I am a female xD By your profile name, I guess you're too, right? 😄
Yeah, the first time I read it I thought the boy you were talking about was your son, but then I realized he was your friend 😊 That's so cool! xD It must be really awesome to have kids as friends 😆 They're so cute! 😆
Hahaha yes, @sallykyoko 😄 I am xD
My parents said that both my grand おばあちゃん s and one of my grand おじいちゃんs were from 熊本 and my other grand おじいちゃん was from 八丈島 or 東京 I'm not so sure xD
Actually, my parents already worked at Japan, on factorys, but sadly, it was really difficult for them and when my older sister was born, they moved back to Brazil 😢 But... I really don't wanna lose my culture, because it makes part of me, I still feel connected with it and I really want to experience all of Japan! So that's why I am so willing to go to Japan! I know that Japanese people probably won't consider me Japanese, even though I am not half or anything, but I still want to live this dream! And it's my first dream, so I really want to make it come true! 😊 Sorry to tell you all if this, when this topic comes to the conversation I talk nonstop about it xD
Oh, also, I think that if I was born in Japan, my name would probably be 中村美智子、or 美知子, or 道子 (my おばあちゃん's name) what do you think? 😊 Since I was born here, my Japanese name is Mitiko, as a tribute to my おばあちゃん, but my mom didn't choose the kanji and she said I can choose 😆, but I don't really know which 😅
Oh, talking about names, your name's きょうこ, right? It reminds me of an old anime called 『スキップ・ビート!』(old, but gold) the protagonist is called きょうこ too! That's a really beautiful name 😊
PS. I'm really sorry for the long and late reply, @sallykyoko ><
PS 2: In case you are wondering, my name is not written with "chi" because Brazilians would pronounce it wrong 😅 Well, they still do to be honest xD But if it were "chi" they would read like 『みしこ』so it's a lot better this way 😅 but if I can go to Japan one day, I would definitely try to change it back to ち 😊
You don't need to apologize! 😄 It's totally okay! I should be the one apologizing for taking so long to answer! 😫 So, 本当にごめんなさい!😫🙇

Hey! How're you doing? Are you having fun studying Japanese?
Let's not say sorry each other even if our reply is always late. 😝
Just send a message whenever we want, don't we? This is the key that keep in touch, I guess.
Well, I meant that my little friend always reminds me when "Thunderbirds are go" will broadcast.
○○ <- date of
broadcast
No no, please don't get me wrong. I didn't mean I was angry because you asked my age. Keeping secret of age is women's special privilege. 😌 Right?
I heard that the most Brazilian people live in Aichi-ken. Big company's factories are there. And next to Kanazawa (where I live now) , Toyama-ken, there are some Brazilian, too. They even can listen gospel in Portuguese in a church there!
Wow, you are the 4th!? Then how do you look? Look like Japanese or Brazilian? What's Brazil like? I know you have a very GOOD meat dish! I forgot the name, though. I want to try that meat some day. 😋🍖 I love meat. But my favorite is watermelon. How about you?
ブラジルってどんな所?どんな美味しい料理があるの?今、ブラジルでオリンピックやってるでしょう?会場は近いの?
Yay! みちこ?How coincidence! My mom's name is 道子, too! みちこis a good name, isn't it? And I'm really touching to know your desire. I feel you love Japan and you are proud of being Japanese. I'm very happy to know that. ☺️You can come to Japan if you keep desiring.
Yes, my name is きょうこ. 享子 (in kanji) Sally was my pet's name. (See my profile photo) Unfortunately, he died. 😭I miss him very much!!!
I know only this, Brazilian pronounce "D" like "G", right? And they pronounce "chi" like し? That's very interesting!
So...how can I call you? みちこ?from now on?
You don't have to say sorry even if your message would long. You can leave any kind of message. ☺️👍

Hi, @sallykyoko ! 久しぶり!Sorry for the late! (I know we agreed on not apologizing anymore, but I really took too long to reply, I’m sorry! A lot of things have been happening this past weeks >< ). I bet you don`t even remember me anymore ><

Yes, I’m the 4th! xD I don’t really know… I look like any other Japanese living on Brazil xD I guess like a little more tanned Japanese from Japan, since Brazil is super hot and you really can feel the sun burning your skin just by walking on the streets ‘^-^ 本当に暑いよ!Well, considering that all generations before me were Japanese, I only have Japanese genes… I can’t really describe how I look xD Maybe, just maybe, I’ll put a profile picture with my face on it in the future ^^
Hmm… Brazil’s hot, it just snows on the south and only on a short period of time. But gladly, it’s located on the top of a tectonic plate, so it doesn’t have earthquakes or seaquakes, any volcanic activity, tornadoes, etc. Is polluted, not so organized and you can see clearly all kinds of different people wherever you go ^^ and there’s a lot of people with different opinions (especially on politics - It’s like republicans and democrats on United States).
Well, since Brazil is really big, it’s kinda hard to describe how it actually is… every region has it’s different culture (like different food, accents, personalities, etc). But it certainly isn’t like a lot of people from all around the world think (like full of jungles and stuff xD). I live in São Paulo, so I only know how SP is like.
Well, closer to the coast, there’re a lot of beaches (but they’re not so heavenly like from the north or northeast regions of Brazil…) I guess you can take about 3 hours or so, by car, to get to a beach if you’re from the city. But here, in the city, there’s almost none vegetation left, which is pretty sad. Hmm… I guess closer to the north and northeast regions of Brazil, people tend to be kinder and happier, comparing to here, and food tends to be more appetizing and natural :D
Oh! Did you know that “Pão de Queijo” (ポンデケージョ) is from Brazil? :D I heard that it’s popular in Japan now xD We have pão de queijo everywhere, but it’s a “mineiro” dish, from Minas Gerais ;D
About the meat dish, I don’t know if it’s what you meant, but a really popular meat dish here is “churrasco”. But it’s easy to make, like, you can use any meat you want (all kinds of beef, sausages, chicken, even chicken heart, which is really popular too) you just have to put it on a grill, after seasoning it, and eat xD. But there’re a lot of different ways to make it. For example, when we have churrasco with my dad side of the family, they usually cut the meat in cubes and make a lot of skewers with onion and green pepper, skewers with chicken heart, etc. With my mom side of the family, they usually make skewers only with sausages and the rest of the meat, they grill the whole pieces. I thought you had it in Japan too xD
What did you mean with watermelon? Is it a kind of meat in Japan?
My favorite kind of meat is “picanha” (because of the flavor! I guess it’s Fillet Steak in English, but I’m not sure) and “filet mignon”, because it’s super soft and tender!
Some tipical dishes from Brazil are: feijoada (with black beans, and pork meat. It’s usually eaten with Brazilian rice, kale, “farofa” and at the end, we eat some oranges, because the dish is really heavy), vatapá, maniçoba, tucupi, empada, coxinha, brigadeiro, tapioca, etc. But, as I said before, a lot of the ones I mencioned are regional dishes, which is why not everyone can make them and you weren’t be able to find everywhere in Brazil. São Paulo itself doesn’t have any regional special dish, but, pão de queijo, empada, brigadeiro, coxinha, etc, you can find anywhere xD
And what about Japan? 日本はどんなとこ?日本人の感想はしりませんですから。@sallykyoko の好きな料理は何ですか。
No, sadly, I didn’t saw the Olympics ;( Yeah, it was not so close to where I live, but I watched it on TV with my family :D Did you watch it? :D
Oh! And in 2020, it will happen in Japan, am I right? *O* 楽しみです!@sallykyoko は?I saw the Prime Minister of Japan getting out of Mario’s tunnel on the preview! *-* 凄く可愛いと思った!I occasionaly see him on my 日本語 course…
Wow! Really?! How cool xD It seems is a common name…? But yeah xD After knowing why I was named 道子 I liked it even more :D Is it true that when naming a child, you count the number of strokes of the kanji? *o* What can the number of strokes mean?
Yeah I really love everything about Japan! Is a really wonderful country *-* Hopefully, I can apply to an exchange course and get to Japan someday xD
I think your name sounds really pretty :D What does the kanji mean?
Oh! I’m really sorry to hear that ಥ~ಥ He seemed to be really cute! But I believe he might be flying free and happy in heaven now :D Do you think about getting another pet? Sorry if it sounded indelicate >< But I think animals have the power to bring us a lot of happiness, that’s why I asked it…
Hahaha yes! And letters like k, w, x, y and z you can hardly see. Also, there are almost none words that end with consonants. Some unusual things: we use ç (for ex. Head in Portuguese is “cabeça”), a lot of words have “acentos”(´, `, ~, ^ which change the sound of some vowels), and Portuguese has a lot of sounds too (a sound we don’t have is the “th” sound on English), besides, a lot of time tenses, like twelve! x.x But we only use 7 or 8 I guess on a daily basis. Also, a lot of grammar rules! That’s why a lot of people commit grammar mistakes all the time.
Yes! You can call me みちこ if you’d like! I’ll be really happy! That would be interesting since no one calls me that anyway xD
In Japan, would people call me by my Japanese or Portuguese name?
So, can I call you きょうこ? Is it impolite? Should I add honorifics?
Thank you for being so understanding! That means a lot! But, if you’re bothered by anything I say, please let me know ^^
